We have been doing business with MIS since 1999, when we contracted them to perform a roof moisture survey at a large Ford Motor Co. plant in the Detroit area. Our client, thinking they needed to budget for a total roof replacement project, since they had so many roof leaks, urgently wanted budget figures for the upcoming roofing season.

MIS surveyed 750,000sq.ft. of roof area and found only 10% of the roof had wet insulation, (which is the cancer of all commercial roofs). MIS outlined areas of wet insulation on the roof surface with yellow spray paint, and provided us with AutoCad drawings of these areas, which made it very easy for our roofers to come in and perform spot replacement repairs to all the areas.

All the roof leaks were soon stopped, and we had a warranty from the roofer for the work they did.
In all, we only spent $25,000.00 on repairs instead of hundreds of thousands of dollars on a new roof, and the project added several years to the life cycle of the roof.

We needed an emergency roof inspection due to a major rainstorm that caused dozens of roof leaks at a 250,000 square feet manufacturing plant.

I contacted MIS and they were on the job that day removing water from the roof surface in order to perform their rooftop infrared moisture survey the following evening. I was amazed at how efficiently the thermography crew went about surveying the roof. The thermal images they showed us clearly pinpointed the areas of wet insulation to within inches.

After reviewing the AutoCad drawings that showed all the areas of damage we were able to determine which roofs had existing damage and which roofs the rainstorm affected.

The end result was that we saved potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in re-roofing costs and were able to make repairs to only slightly damaged roofs effectively and economically.

The building administrator was very pleased with the results and everyone agreed we ended up with a win win conclusion. MIS has been on call for our claims adjusters ever since.
